In
addition to the packed academic curriculum, a host of activities are also
envisaged for the entire batch throughout the year in various
extracurricular domains. A number of student fraternities give students
the opportunity to exercise their creative, organizational and leadership
skills in course of the two-year period.
The management of Inbuss would conduct the selection procedure for these
fraternities or clubs. In the two-step selection criteria, the students will first have to apply for a particular position as stipulated, following which they will have to undergo an interview for final selection. During the interview, students will be required to justify his/her candidature with proper supporting documents and presentation abilities.
The
various student Clubs are as follows:
1. The Corporate Club
2. The Culture Club
Both the Clubs will have a total of four office bearers including a president, secretary and two members.
1)
The Corporate Club
This club will handle all activities related to summer placements, final campus recruitment, corporate relationship management, sourcing of live projects from industry, corporate sponsorships, corporate talks, seminars and exchange programs among others.
2)
The Culture Club
A host of extra-curricular activities will be conducted during the two-year stay at
Inbuss. Apart from debates, jams, quizzes and musical-nites, contests will also be held in the areas of marketing, advertising, finance and systems throughout the year. On the lighter side special movie screenings and socials are also planned at our delightful
Hang-Out! The Club will be in charge of organizing all these activities throughout the year and will also regulate participation in inter-collegiate events in various college festivals all over the country.

Life
at Inbuss |
| Inbuss
is a melting pot of learning, exchange, analysis, fun and
games. The academic routine is a judicious mix of class
lectures and interactive faculty-student sessions that creates
a unique learning environment, and provides for a continuous
inflow of new and different perspectives. Apart from the
standard curriculum, students are encouraged to participate in
group activities like Business Simulation Games, Role Plays
and Group Discussions. Competitiveness is a quality found in
abundance, and when not in class, one can often find students
and faculty alike, locked in friendly combat and matching wits
across our open-air chess board in the sylvan surroundings of
a lush green garden cafeteria. A movie club carries over 85
titles for the entertainment of students.

|
Great
emphasis is laid on teamwork, which finds evidence in
activities of the Corporate and Culture Club.
Each Club is managed and led by a team of 6 students
and aims at providing opportunities
for students to engage in. The Corporate Club, for example,
interfaces with the Industry to organize workshops and guest
lectures, and brings in eminent personalities to share
perspectives and opinions with students. The Culture Club
concentrates on organizing tournaments, treks, debates and
offsite workshops.
A
typical day at Inbuss is energetic, fast-paced and fun.
Starting early at 9am, you usually get a chance to take a
breather around lunch. Lectures are interspersed with team
exercises and study groups, and you are bound to put in an
hour of daily reading at the library. After lectures, you
either wind up playing a game of chess, or relaxing in the
forum; and if nothing else, just engaging in an intellectual
discussion on the green lawns.

Offsite
at Mussoorie
|
|

One
man with a dream, at pleasure,
Shall go forth and conquer a crown;
And three with a new song's measure
Can trample an empire down.
O'Shaughnessy
Following
a demanding first trimester, the offsite at Mussourie was like
tranquility after the storm had lifted. It facilitated interactions
beyond those of classrooms and presentations amongst the students
and also provided us with a platform to interact with the management
in an informal manner.

The festivities began in the capital itself with a motley bunch of
over 90 students lugging their bags to the railway platform. With
song and dance, the journey progressed from train to bus and it was
a different lot that embarked at the Jaypee Mussoorie a good six
hours later. As the red carpet and the buffet were rolled out,
having been famished, the quantities eaten violated the fine line
between hunger and greed.
The
subsequent day began with a banquet of a breakfast that gave us the
much needed vigour to greet each with other with bestial
appellations, acquainting us to our best suited primal group for the
game (some us of even managed to make free ‘trunk’ calls!!). The
workshop, gave us an insight into group dynamics and team building.
It had most of us, exploring all corners of the resort with its
breathtaking view of the mountains, finding clues to solve a puzzle,
the solution to which we still have no clue. Later in the day, the
informal marketing event organized by the senior batch had a certain
group planning an advertising campaign to ‘overplay underwear’
[This was of course only in ‘brief(s)’].

Day 3 began with a workshop that included solving a ‘whodunit?’.
As the Sherlocks and the Miss Marples of the
batch squinted around for that elusive clue, they derived
inspiration from the fact that the prize for the exercise was a
bottle of champagne….all bubbly and perfectly chilled.
Then,
it was time for that high point of a Business School…. playing a
Stock Market Game, where teams were bestowed with imaginary money to
invest in stocks. As the dynamic market made unexpected moves,
proving that it’s bigger than everyone else, we whipped out our
abacuses, calculators and laptops. It was finally worth it, at
least, for the victor team which won an Infinity Business School
watch for each of its members. This concluded the workshops and we
were then left to our own devices.
A
few enthusiasts led by a student of the senior batch went trekking to a
place called Mossy Falls at 5am, displaying the abilities of nimble
Sherpas. The gymnasium at the hotel played host to the macho men while the
ladies exchanged health tips at the sauna. And as games of badminton made
way for the grand Water Polo match, students proved that there’s no
energy like Infinity.
Much of each night was spent at the hotel discotheque, mysteriously
called ‘The Big Ben’, where hotel guests competed with us for space on
the dance floor.

The
overall experience was interactive, educational, and infinitely
enjoyable; and needless to say, everyday from sunset to daybreak,
Mussourie was visited by almost all of the seven deadly sins!!! We
are looking forward to next year already !!

2002 |
With
three bus loads of 81 students the Inbuss community stormed its way to
mussoorie in an attempt to work towards the element of solidarity over a
period of four days and three nights.
The trip gave an opportunity for the students to interact on a
relatively more personalized level to strengthen the qualities of team
spirit and easiness of staying with same members in an attempt to discuss
more than the class assignments.
The management
team organized lateral thinking workshops to enhance the ability to think out
of the box. On the first
evening the students were given twenty minutes to crack a Mensa quiz.
Following suit the next day the students greeted each other with
animal calls to form groups in an attempt to solve a murder mystery.
Though we didn’t comprise an efficient rookie team, the students
developed interesting theories to crack the case supporting that
‘M.B.A.’s are trained generalists’. However, some theories
convincingly made De Bono turn in his grave.
Fortunately, and not to our surprise one of the teams hit the
jack pot of a wine bottle which was guzzled down by the grapevine in a
matter of seconds.
Following
morning concluded the workshop engaging the students in reflecting the
attributes of extinct communities, making colourful advertising campaigns
in an attempt to sell contraceptives and with
guessing the verb.
The feedback on extinct communities is better left unsaid however,
our campaigns would have put the greatest advertising giants to shame and
make them want to hire the batch on the drop of a hat.
The
evenings started much unlike the delayed mornings and stretched deep into
the four dawns. The Inbuss
force was seen at its best at the discotheque, jiving to the tunes ranging
from Daler Mehendi to Paul Vandyek. The
not so adventurous party hoppers had the option of star gazing and sinking
into their philosophical stream of thoughts engaging in highly
intellectual mono or dialogues.

The
trip catalystized the breaking of the ice as the members interacted on
personalized level. It helped
the members filter the positives of staying together and working as a
team. Needless to say it was
a roaring success and we hope to repeat the process on our next extended
break.

| Freshers
Welcome |
|
 |
Dressed
in black, in red and in the Hawaiian; the dress code changes,
but not the spirit. This
is ‘The first BIG night’, the induction of the fresh batch
of students to the Inbuss way of life - a warm welcome to a
new world where the senior batch promises to share their
experience and guide the freshers as they find their feet.
As students intermingle and get more comfortable, the
dance floor shakes till the wee hours of the morning.
This,
of course, is only the prelude to the first nasty shock - a
surprise quiz the next morning - but it’s all part of the
game. |
| Mentor
Lunch |
|
Taking
our unique mentor
concept one-step further - an opportunity for
the student mentees to interact with their faculty mentors in
a more informal environment. Gastronomy and guidance
provide the intellectual enzymes
during the lunch to tackle the ardous course.
All mentors take active interest in the overall development of
students and are available to guide them as the latter take on
the high pressure environment. |

Who says MBA’s have a single-track mind? At Inbuss, students apply
learnings from their Strategic Management to the 64 checkered
battlefront. Playing
at the outdoor chess ground is an experience of its own.
Huge Pawns, bigger Rooks - the game comes to life in an
interesting, unique Inbuss construct.
And as the best 16
warriors battle to win this crown, it is a test of
intellectual strength that demands nerves of steel.
And until the last move, the ‘never-say-die spirit’
of the Infinite reigns supreme. |
| Annual
Diwali Nite |
|
|
The
‘Festival of Lights’ is a traditional occasion for the
students to take a breather from the demanding course schedule.
Dressed
in ethnic Indian attire, smart men and glamorous women move down
from the classes to dress up their campus as well, as the Diwali
spirit envelopes the B-school and spreads its sorrtorial
magic through and through, |
 |
|
The
myriad of rangolis resplendent with the traditional Indian
colours of red, green and yellow, make the campus come to life.
Marigold flowers and rose petals adorn the campus lawns
while the traditional ‘Diyas’ and candles spread their glow
on each of our students.
The
rasgullas, gulab jamuns, the rounds of tambola and peppy music
enhance the verve of the Diwali celebrations. |
| Stock
Market Game |
|
 |
Who
wants to be a Billionaire? This is one of the most anticipated
events in the Infinite’s calendar - the indigenously developed
live stock market game that pits all the prospective bulls and
bears against each other in a match that test analytical
ability, risk appetite and, of course, stock movements.
The game that works on a real time, dynamic Indian stock
market over the span of 3 months completely possesses students
till the ‘Warren Buffets’ emerge from the chaff. |

Whoever
said nerds can’t play needs to visit Inbuss! As infinites
attempt to reach the skies, they practice some basketball to aid
them along the way.
It helps that along the way they conquer a few worlds
defeating competing teams from other B-schools.
And
its not just basket ball that infinites enjoy... if there’s a
sport, they play it.
Proving that true leaders are multi-faceted
personalities.
So they square off on the soccer field, on the volleyball
court and in the table tennis room. |

| Breakfast@Infinity |
|
 |
The
solidarity walk starts at eight in the morning from Inbuss on a
wintry morning.
Infinites walk along Sikandra Road, Raisina Road, Firoz
Shah Road to reach Vijay Chowk.
The return journey to Inbuss takes lesser time, not
suprisingly, since students know a scrumptious breakfast awaits
them!
The annual
5-mile walk held a day before the beginnning of the final
placements, evokes memories along its route.
It helps calm nerves and helps re-iterate the fact so
well taught at Inbuss - that Life is a journey.. one should
treasure immensely. |
| Starry
Starry Night |
|
| The
movie club at Infinity stocks over 90 movies. An annual feature
is the festive night under the open skies in the magical Inbuss
campus organised during the winter chill invades Delhi.
Infinites sprawl themselves on the lush green lawns to
watch a blockbuster just the way it was meant to be - on a giant
screen. The movie then
gives way to the music with many a student playing the in-house
DJ.
A live Bar-be-que offers a treat to the senses and the
palette. And of course, its time for the seniors to pass the
torch to the junior batch, as the former gear up for the final
placement season. |

| Corporate
Nite Out |
|
|
Getting
accustomed to the corporate life always includes more than just
learning jargon.
Attired in black jackets, students follow this dictum as
they take their seats on round table
to partake a very very French meal.
So,
they work their knives and forks feverishly while discussing
balance sheets, annual turnovers and revenue deficits. |
| Inter-School
Festivals |
|
 |
Infinity
Business School organized its first ever management festival,
ELYSIUM 2003, with the objective of providing a common meeting
ground for premium B - Schools. Elysium, by definition, means an
ideal place of happiness. Inbuss achieved this same experience
on the 6th & 7th of December 2003. Elysium provided an
opportunity to benefit from the combined talent of participants
from various B-schools and learn from the experience of each
other. |
|
Some of the featured B-Schools were
MDI,Gurgaon;
Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad; International
Management Institute, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. The
highlight of the festival was Linos- the Rock Festival named
after the Greek God of music and rhythm.
On
the whole, Elysium 2003 provided a complete unwinding
experience, allowing students to take a breather after two very
demanding trimesters. |
